The Clinical Center of Power and Protection Systems has started its activities in 2017 in four axes: laboratory, clinical, research and educational. This center includes the following two groups:
1. Power Systems and Intelligence Group:
Intelligent power grid refers to a type of electrical energy transmission and distribution systems that, to improve the performance of the power grid and provide ancillary services to customers, is a combination of conventional power engineering tools and state-of-the-art technologies, instantaneous measurements and control technologies, Creates information and communication, Develops and operates an existing network with new facilities. In the meantime, upgrading the protection and control system of this power system and using intelligent technology is one of the big goals.
In this regard, a specialized center should be formed to make power networks smarter and to address the mass issues that are used in every industry and organization. In the following, according to the need for intelligence, in power networks, the challenges and obstacles to achieve these goals should be examined and relevant solutions should be presented.
Therefore, this research center can have many potential cooperation with organizations, industrial and production centers, medical centers, etc. Also, considering the location of Bushehr province and the smart candidate of Bushehr city, special industries and organizations such as oil industries, customs and ports, nuclear power plants are potential applicants. However, since a coherent and scientific research center has not been established in this field in Bushehr province, creating a specialized team in the form of a research center is considered a potential opportunity. In this regard, the group of Intelligence Clinic and IoT has started its work from 10/07/97. Which is one of the actions of this clinic to make smart and launch the first smart micro-grade in the Persian Gulf University.
2. Protection group and Error location:
With the increase in population and the consequent increase in electricity consumption, the need for a larger power grid arises. Therefore, power grid protection increases reliability, speed and selectivity, as well as reducing network costs while maintaining power grid stability. Power system protection is a branch of electrical power engineering that deals with the protection of electrical power systems against faults by isolating faulty parts from the rest of the electrical network. The purpose of the protection plan is to maintain a stable power system by isolating only the faulty parts and keeping as many parts of the network in operation as possible; Therefore, security plans need to use highly pragmatic and pessimistic methods to clear system errors. The technology and philosophies used in conservation plans may often be outdated and strongly established because they need to be very reliable.
In this regard, in the Research Center for Development and Technology of Power and Protection Systems, in the fault protection and location group, two active relocation clinics have been established to establish network protection coordination and error location clinic to recover the power network as soon as. Due to the location of Bushehr province and the existence of industrial, production and operation centers, including oil and gas refineries in the southern fields of Assaluyeh, the need for such a center for relocation and troubleshooting of cables and various lines and accident analysis was felt more than before. The following is a flowchart to introduce groups, clinics and members.
In order to communicate effectively with various industries and rely on its facilities and experienced staff, this center has set up a clinic to provide technical engineering services, which are:
1. Kabul Troubleshooting Clinic
۲. Conservation and Relief Clinic
3. Intelligence Clinic
So far, this clinical complex has more than 248 successful cable diagnostics in the field of testing cables and overhead cables.
Also, the Relief and Protection Clinic has implemented 20 technical and engineering services projects in this field in various refinery and petrochemical industries, such as cement.
The center is also proud to launch the first set of smart microgrids, which is now the first set of smart grids in operation in the country, relying on the forces and capacities of local software hardware.
